Search Console and Analytics

Connecting, disconnecting, refreshing and choosing the right property.

GSC and GA are independent connections. They do not draw from the wallet / subscription limit. You need access to the right Google property.

Search Console

  1. 1
    Click “Connect Search Console”

Opens the modal “Connect Google Search Console”.

  2. 2
    Choose a Google account

It must be able to see the property.

  3. 3
    Choose a property

Match the domain and the protocol for a URL-prefix property.

  4. 4
    Confirm

The connection is shown on the screen.

  5. 5
    Click “Refresh GSC”

    Downloads the available clicks/impressions.

  6. 6
    If needed, “Disconnect GSC”

Stops future refreshes; use the confirmation carefully.

Google Analytics

  1. 1
    Click “Connect Analytics”

Opens the modal “Connect Google Analytics”.

  2. 2

    Check the name and domain.

  3. 3
    Confirm

    Activates the Analytics panel.

  4. 4
    Click “Refresh Analytics”

Downloads organic, landings, devices and AI assistants.

  5. 5
    If needed, “Disconnect Analytics”

Removes the connection for future syncs.

Keeping the connection permanent

WRS stores a Google refresh token and renews access automatically on sync. If the Google Cloud Consent Screen is in Testing, Google itself cancels that token after about 7 days — clicks then freeze on the last successful date until someone clicks “Add / refresh access” and signs in again. For a lasting connection, an admin sets Consent Screen to In production, then renews access once from Traffic.

Questions & answers

Do I need both connections?

No. GSC is for SERP performance; GA is for site behavior. For the full picture use both.

Why does GSC stop about a week after connecting?

Most often the Google Cloud OAuth app is in Testing — the refresh token expires in ~7 days. Fix: Consent Screen → In production, then “Add / refresh access” in Traffic. The app already requests offline access; the limit is Google’s, not WRS’s.

Does disconnecting delete the history?

It stops future refreshes; the existing snapshots may remain visible.

Why do I not see the property?

The selected Google account does not have access, or you are looking for a different type of property.
